USP – Interactive visual concert
Interactive set design
In July 2024, at USP in São Paulo, SuperUber introduced the “Visual Concert,” an interactive set design created specifically for a performance by renowned pianist Eduardo Monteiro during the 10th Latin American Congress of Semiotics. The piano notes were captured in real time using a special system that transformed them into generative animations, creating an immersive visual experience that perfectly synchronized with the live music.
In addition to the piano performance, the interactive set design was also used for other artistic acts. The dance company Cia Tribo de Dança and the children’s group Crianças do Samba performed as well. Their dance acts celebrated various Brazilian cultural styles, including Carimbó, Frevo, Afoxé, Capoeira, Samba, and Boleadeiras. Flowing color animations accompanied each performance, bringing the visuals to life.
In the main performance, Eduardo Monteiro captivated the audience with his renditions of Debussy’s “La Cathédrale Engloutie” and Villa-Lobos’s “Impressões Seresteiras.” The music was seamlessly paired with visual animations, creating a harmonious fusion of sound and art.
