H.Stern Guided Tour

Multimedia exhibition

SuperUber was invited to develop the new H.Stern Guided Tour, which is the 3rd most visited tourist attraction in Rio de Janeiro. By using audiovisual resources, the manufacturing processes of jewelry – from extraction to the final product – are viewed by the visitor in a dynamic and creative way.

At the entrance, the environment uses projection, animation and set design to welcome the visitor. The stripes and colors of the visual identity mix with the main stones used by H.Stern and elements of nature. A lit up panel makes the transition between the stripes and the visual identity created by SuperUber for the Guided Tour. This pattern evokes the jewelery’s cut and is engraved on steel plates that cover the walls of the space. An animation on 4 synchronized screens welcome visitors in 18 languages.

SuperUber worked together with H.Stern’s team to create an up-to-date tour, integrating architecture, design, technology and digital content. The visitor chooses between the 18 languages available for the audio headphones, then goes through the 14 steps of jewelry making. The steps show Mr. Hans Stern’s pioneering vision, a map of the mines in Brazil, projections that show in detail the phases of work, Pepper’s ghost that shows the gemstones’ cut, selection and classification, and projections that show the designer’s inspiration to create the jewelry.

The Guided Tour ends with an innovative showcase, where the iconic H.Stern jewelry is displayed in a unique format – diaphragms form small windows that open and close with the visitors’ presence.
